Kids help our community get to know CHILDREN'S
There were some tears, but there were many more smiles as kids and their families shared their health care stories during the first Corus Radiothon in support of Children’s. The June 5, live broadcast from the atrium of Children’s Hospital featured over 20 kids – some past patients and some current – along with their families, as well as hospital representatives.
These stories inspired Corus Radio listeners to donate over $81,000 to support of the greatest needs at Children’s including vital research, paediatric programs and patient care. During the broadcast, listeners helped purchase three Smart IV Pumps for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and a set of MRI CinemaVision Goggles. (add link to story about MRI Goggles)
A special thank you to Corus London/Woodstock for generously donating their air-time, staff hours and programming expertise for the all-day broadcast. The entire staff of Corus, which includes FM96, 103.1 FreshFM, Country 104 and AM980, embraced the opportunity to give the community a glimpse into Children’s Hospital and to support the exceptional care provided every day to patients and their families across Southwestern Ontario and even Northwestern Ontario.
Thank you to all the volunteers and businesses who generously donated their time, products and services, including:
- Soccer Community AG London - U17 Boys Soccer Team
- Stobie’s Pizza
