Magical Winter Ball Heats Up London Convention Centre
Sold out this year, Children’s Health Foundation 7th Annual Magical Winter Ball transported nearly 1,000 guests from the London Convention Centre to a vibrant land of Polynesian dreams.
Padding down our wooden walkway on December 8 and through the expansive doors of our inviting tiki hut, guests emerged into a vibrantly-coloured ballroom with lazy palm trees and beautiful tropical flowers.
Children’s eyes grew wide when fire dancers unexpectedly appeared during dinner. The surprises continued when a troupe of ukulele players gathered on the dance floor and broke into song. Adults and children alike joined them in the centre of the room, tapping their feet and dancing joyfully.
All of our guests couldn’t contain their excitement to visit the TD Campfire Corner. The wafting smell of smores drew them to the activity where improv actors elicited smiles and endless laughter. No child could resist the Child Life booth. Our Specialists gave them the opportunity to use pretend stethoscopes, MRI machines, needles and other medical items to fix up our stuffed animals. The magic of the evening continued with the Magen Boys appearing to invite the crowd to the dance floor for the Siskinds Teddy Bear Toss.
Through the generous support of our community, Children’s Magical Winter Ball raised more than $180,000 (NET) for the Child Life program at Children`s Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre. Child Life is a holistic program that helps children and their families cope with hospitalization and illness through play, humour and fun. Thank you for your wonderful support and for making a difference in the lives of children and their families during their greatest time of need!
