A million smiles
On October 29, Tim Hortons owners visited Children’s Hospital to present a cheque for $221,547 – the proceeds of this year’s Smile Cookie Week, which ran from September 23 to September 29 at Tim Hortons stores in the London region.
With the success of this year’s Smile Cookie Week, there are now a million reasons to smile. Over the past 11 years, Tim Hortons has raised over 1.1 million in our region through sales of the $1 smiling chocolate chunk cookies.
This year, proceeds will purchase a new piece of equipment called Cinemavision Video Goggles that child life specialists will use to help eliminate the need for sedation when a child needs to remain still for an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) exam. Funds will also support the Art Therapy and Therapeutic Clown programs, which help young patients deal with the fears and anxieties that can come with hospitalization and promotes healing.
Thank you, Tim Hortons owners, staff and loyal customers for your incredible support.
