Stephanie's Annual Ice Cream Party at DQ

Thursday, August 8th is Dairy Queen Miracle Treat Day. Proceeds from every Blizzard® Treat sold across the country are donated to local Children's Miracle Network member hospitals, including our very own Children’s Hospital at London Health Sciences Centre.

Stephanie with DQ staff Each year, Stephanie and her family support DQ Miracle Treat Day in a special way – with an ice cream party!  They host their party at the Dairy Queen location on Dundas Street in London, Ontario,  inviting their family, friends, co-workers and neighbours to join them for a Blizzard Treat.  The ice cream party is a way to celebrate Stephanie’s strength and determination, as well as the care and support she has received at Children’s Hospital, since she began her battle with cancer in 2004.

Over the past nine years, Stephanie’s Miracle Treat Day party has developed a loyal following.  If you were to drive by during the evening, you would see a long line of supporters happily waiting to order their Blizzards. Guests even come prepared with lawn chairs to sit and enjoy the party on the overflowing patio of the store.  Stephanie, her sisters Nancy and Pie, and her parents move through the crowd to thank everyone for coming out and even hand out wet wipes.

DQ Miracle Treat Day is definitely about ice cream – and  lots of it – but it’s also about helping to provide the best possible health care for children and youth like Stephanie. When you support Miracle Treat Day, you are Raising Hope for children in your community.

Host your own ice cream party. There is no RSVP required, just invite your family and friends to join you at a DQ store on Miracle Treat Day and enjoy a treat together. Don’t forget to share photos of your best #blizzardface on Twitter and Facebook!

Spread the word by tweeting and posting that Thursday, August 8th is #MiracleTreatDay at @DQCanada in support of @CMN Canada and @CHFHope.
