BUILDING ON YOUR LEGACY OF SUPPORT FOR CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL
You made it possible for Children’s Hospital to rally around our children during the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic and jump into action to manage the after-effects.
Your most recent support has helped purchase essential equipment, like the PANDA Warmer, for our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and we were pleased to share the difference this gift will make in a special impact video.
Over the last four years, you have infused emergency response to the pandemic and Children’s Hospital’s highest priority needs with the funds needed to save and improve the lives of children from across Western Ontario.
“Even though Kitchener is our home, London was the centre of our health care journey.
When my son was finishing up the initial phase of treatment in Toronto, they gave us the option to choose where his next phase of treatment would be.
I remember saying to myself, ‘that traffic's insane, we're not doing that.’
We transferred to London and immediately it was a different experience – we got to know our team so well.
London became our hub because our Children’s team connected us to so many community supports.”

- The performer of the youngest multi-organ transplant in the world
- The developer of a blood test that can diagnose concussions with up to 96 percent accuracy
- One of only two Regional Epilepsy Surgery Centres of Excellence in Ontario
We are respectfully asking for support of children's hospital's highest priority needs
Western Ontario’s population is growing, with over 2.6 million people, including 550,000 children. 57,000 of those children rely on Children’s Hospital for the best care, with over 37,000 calling London-Middlesex home.
With a growing community, now is a crucial time to invest in infrastructure, state-of-the-art equipment, talented people and leading research programs. And it all starts with you!
We are kindly requesting that you consider us as a 2025 recipient of the Ironstone Impact campaign so Children’s can work towards:
- Expanding our Emergency Department, where we cared for 47,000+ children in 2023
- Creating a larger mental health space and designate a Chair in youth mental health to provide better, faster treatment to the 1,700+ children who need us each year
- Creating a new oncology inpatient and outpatient clinic to support cancer care and research
- Transforming the paediatric Magnetic Resonance Imaging Program through dedicated space, staff and new equipment to help reduce wait times and assist in earlier diagnoses
- Unlocking new possibilities by furthering the research of dedicated Chair and surgical fellowships
Despite the excellence of Children’s Hospital, the unprecedented growth in our communities means change is urgent and necessary and that’s where we need you.
