Hunter Fought Against HLH and Came Out a Champion

“A rare condition. We don’t know much about it. He needs to go to Children’s Hospital in London right away.”

This is just one of the terrifying things two-year-old Hunter’s parents heard right before he was put into an ORNGE plane and flown over 800 km to London.

Hunter was diagnosed with HLH, a rare, life-threatening blood disease. His health care team in the critical care unit at Children’s Hospital worked around the clock to keep him alive. For five days, his outcome was grim. Suddenly, he started to improve and made a full recovery.

Today, Hunter is an energetic boy that does not stop because doctors at Children’s Hospital saved his life!
