They are committed to excellence and continue to train in the latest techniques while striving to foster a family-centred atmosphere that anticipates their patients’ needs.
Service Area
Children’s Hospital serves a vast area, including Southwestern Ontario and parts of Northern Ontario. More than half of all patients come from outside of London. Our highly-skilled transport team utilizes leading-edge technology and specialized medical protocols to fly into communities to bring children to life-saving care.
Last year, Children’s Hospital cared for nearly 32,000 of
the most medically complex and critically-ill children, from birth up to age 18, in our region.
Saving Our Region’s Kids:
Serving a population of more than 2.3 million, with over 400,000 children, Children’s Hospital cares for our region’s most critically ill, and last year:
- Received over 117,000 patient visits, or 320 visits per day
- Over 37,000 clinical visits to the Paediatric Medical Day Unit
- 36,000 visits through Emergency
- Supported over 900 critically ill babies in Neonatal Intensive Care
- Treated over 820 children in the Paediatric Critical Care Unit
- 53% of patients are from outside of London
