Children’s Health Foundation Celebrates Extraordinary Community Partner Zavitz Insurance & Wealth as They Are Designated a Business Leader in Canada’s Volunteer Awards.
Canada’s Volunteer Awards recognize community leaders, not-for-profit organizations, social enterprises and businesses that have made significant contributions to improving the lives of others. Award recipients are highly engaged in their communities and inspire Canadians to make a difference through volunteering.
As one of only five business leader award recipients, Zavitz Insurance & Wealth (ZIW) led by the dedicated Terry Zavitz (Founder and President), and Justine Zavitz (Vice-President) stand out in our community as a pillar of support for kids facing life-threatening illnesses and life-limiting diagnoses.
Since 2008, Zavitz Insurance & Wealth has provided generous support in service of the 80,000 kids across Western Ontario who rely on Children’s Health Foundation’s health care partners – Children’s Hospital, TVCC, and Children’s Health research Institute – each year.
They stood by our kids at the very start of the pandemic, not only by ccontributing monetarily with a donation to our COVID Emergency Fund, but also throughout the years with their business acumen. Both Terry and Justine have shared their expertise on the Board of Directors, and as chair committee members for various foundation events.
The name Zavitz is truly synonymous with community involvement. Terry, Justine, and the staff at ZIW give endlessly to support non-profits in their community, whether that is through monetary donations, gift-in-kind contributions, or offering up their knowledge and expertise to benefit marginalized and overlooked populations. For example, Terry and Justine developed financial literacy programs now offered through Goodwill to help lift individuals out of poverty.
This incredible family and business legacy clearly demonstrates ZIW’s drive to go above and beyond for not only their clients, but also for their community. The number of people who have benefitted from their compassion and commitment continues to grow as years go by.
