When 12-year-old Felix received a diagnosis of Burkitt’s lymphoma — a rare and aggressive form of cancer — his family faced 177 days of some of the most intensive treatment outside of brain cancer care. Through it all, Felix never lost his spirit. He made espressos for the night nurses. He planned to become a therapeutic clown one day. Even on his hardest days, he worried more about his five siblings than himself.
Donor support through Children’s Health Foundation meant Felix and his family had access to programs that made a real difference — Child Life services, Ollie the therapeutic clown, art and music therapy, and the Smile Room. Felix got to stay a kid, even through the hardest days.
