ECG Machines help transform health care for kids like Tia

Thank you Rona for helping provide the life-saving equipment that experts at Children's need to transform care for kids like Kayleigh.

Born at 26 weeks and 6 days, Kayleigh started her life in the Children’s Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). She immediately received specialized treatments like vital medications through her IV pumps and ventilation to help her lungs grow stronger.

At just 4 days old, Kayleigh’s family and NICU team noticed a bump on her back and shoulders. A biopsy of her bump confirmed her diagnosis – Infantile Myofibromatosis – which caused Kayleigh’s body to develop benign tumors.

Performing life-saving tests and procedures on babies as small as Kayleigh requires specialized equipment like the NICU shuttle that allows infants to remain connected to IV pumps, isolettes, and more while on their way to CT scans, MRIs, or other treatments and procedures.

Thanks to close monitoring during her 106 days in the NICU, Kayleigh's health care team was able to observe the tumors on her spine and develop the best possible care plan for their removal.

Today, Kayleigh's spinal tumors are gone because of the best possible care at Children’s! You made it possible for Children’s Hospital to keep Kayleigh happy and healthy so she can be the bubbly little sister she’s meant to be.
