Thanks to the CP Healthy Hearts Lab, doctors are able to perform life-saving care to help children, like Jack, with heart defects

Exceptional Care So Close to Home

The night Jack was born, nurses discovered he had an irregular heartbeat. They immediately sent his family to the NICU at Children’s Hospital to perform tests.

Doctors confirmed Jack had a heart defect known as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. The left side of his heart never developed.

For the first few months of his life, his family experienced countless trips to Children’s Hospital’s Emergency Department. They are thankful to have exceptional care so close to home.

After three open-heart surgeries, Jack has improved greatly and visits our hospital every three months for his regular checkups, with echos and electrocardiograms.

As Jack grows, he will need more surgery. With your support, Children’s Hospital and the CP Healthy Hearts Lab will be there for the duration of his childhood to ensure his heart is in tip-top shape.

Kids at Children’s Hospital, like Jack, need our community to stand by them while they undergo life-saving care for heart defects.
