Affectionately called “Schmirler the Curler,” and “The Queen of Curling,” Sandra always found a way to win in many games, situations, and places. Even when Sandra became sick, her health care journey inspired the creation of a life changing foundation in her memory.
Founded in January 2001, the Sandra Schmirler Foundation helps create better days for vulnerable infants needing care in Neonatal Intensive Care Units.

The much-needed equipment they have provided enables the NICU Team at Children’s Hospital to provide the best care possible.
