The Right Medicine, the Right Dose, at the Right Time

How a new piece of equipment could transform cancer care at Children’s Hospital

When your child is sick, the most important thing you want is answers. You want to know that the medicine is working. That the treatment plan is not just hopeful, but precise. That every dose is tailored to help, not harm.

Thanks to the vision of Dr. Richard Kim and the support of a generous community, Children’s Hospital is leading the way in personalized cancer care for children. Now, with your help, we are ready to take the next bold step forward.

We need to raise $200,000 to bring a MassARRAY® System to Children’s Hospital. This cutting-edge piece of equipment will help us take personalized medicine to a whole new level. And thanks to the incredible generosity of the Airshow London, every dollar donated right now will be matched, up to $70,000.

That means if we raise $70,000+ from our community, we will unlock an additional $70,000, giving us $140,000 toward our goal.

What is the MassARRAY® System?

This technology allows our medical teams to look deeper into how a child’s body is responding to medication in real time. Every child processes drugs differently. The MassARRAY® System gives us the power to monitor those responses quickly and accurately so that we can adjust the dose, change the drug, or act sooner if something is not working.

For children facing cancer, time matters. Precision matters. This system helps eliminate the guesswork, replacing it with data that saves lives.

Why Now?

Children’s Hospital is one of the few centres in Canada advancing a full-scale precision medicine program for children. Under Dr. Kim’s leadership, our team already uses pharmacogenetic testing to guide how medications are prescribed based on a child’s DNA. Adding the MassARRAY® System means we can combine that genetic insight with live monitoring of how a child’s body is reacting. It is the future of medicine — and with your help, we can make it real for children across Southwestern and Northern Ontario.

This is more than a machine. It is a tool that will help a child avoid unnecessary side effects. It is a safeguard that helps a parent sleep better at night. It is a step toward ensuring that every child gets the right medicine at the right dose, at exactly the right time.

How You Can Help

We are asking you to help us raise the first $70,000 so we can unlock the full matching funds from the Airshow London. Once matched, we will be well on our way with $140,000 raised and just $60,000 more to go.

Your gift will go twice as far. You may choose to give a one-time donation. You may be part of a workplace or service club that can give together. You may even know a company or foundation or your family that wants to step up and close the final gap.

No matter the size of your gift, you will be giving something powerful: certainty, precision, and hope to families who need it most.

If you or someone you know is inspired to help, bring this vision to life, please reach out to us. Our team would be happy to share more and show you how your leadership can impact care for generations of young patients.

With your support, we can deliver care that is not just advanced, but deeply personal.
