Making Miracles for Kids

CIBC Wood Gundy Gives Back through Annual Day of Giving

CIBC Wood Gundy is shaping better childhoods for kids in Southwestern Ontario through their annual day of giving.

“As a leading wealth management firm in the region, we’re very proud to be leaders in giving back to the communities where we work and live,” says Brian Mills, first vice-president and district branch manager in London.

CIBC Miracle Day is a special day where members of CIBC Capital Markets and CIBC Wood Gundy Investment Advisors donate their fees and commissions to make a difference in the lives of children. It is held the first Wednesday of every December.

Since launching in 1984, CIBC Miracle Day has raised more than $260 million globally.

Children’s Health Foundation is grateful to be among the recipients of these philanthropic funds. Over the past three years, CIBC Wood Gundy has donated more than $160,000 to support patients and clients at Children’s Hospital and TVCC.

“Miracle Day is an incredibly important event for our organization and children in our community. Very few people realize the extent of the support provided by CIBC Wood Gundy,” says Sara Steers, director of philanthropy for Children’s Health Foundation. “They have helped improve mental health services for youth, purchase cutting-edge hospital equipment to save lives and support recreational and therapeutic services for children with disabilities, while also having other important impacts. Their commitment to our community is truly admirable.”

Steers also extends her gratitude to the clients of CIBC Wood Gundy, adding that they are vital to the success of Miracle Day.

“By working with their advisors, they are helping us meet the needs of so many children in their own communities. The impact of that support is tremendous.”

CIBC Wood Gundy is proud to partner with Children’s Health Foundation and have a positive impact for our community, adds Mills.

“Children’s Health Foundation is critical to our community and we are grateful of our longstanding partnership and fortunate to support them and their mission of delivering the best possible care to children and families facing serious health issues,” says Mills.
