Beverley Gould has left a $50,000 legacy gift to support sick children.

Southwestern Ontario Farmer Leaves Beautiful Legacy

A hard-working farmer from near Exeter, Ontario, Beverley Gould wanted to help children overcome devastating diseases.

His desire to make a difference in the lives of young people inspired him to leave a caring and generous $50,000 legacy gift to Children’s Health Foundation.

Bev, as he was better known, passed away peacefully at Queensway Nursing Home in Hensall at age 93.

Bev knew from his own life how difficult it is to lose someone to disease. His brother, Percy, was just a teenager when he became sick with cancer. Sadly, he passed away a few years after his diagnosis. Two of Bev’s nieces also faced cancer.

He did not want others to have to endure the same pain and heartache. Through his legacy gift, Bev is helping to improve children’s futures.

He is supporting scientists at Children’s Health Research Institute – the third largest hospital-based child and maternal health research institute in Canada – on a ground-breaking research project to prevent childhood obesity. Childhood obesity can put young people at greater risk of heart disease, diabetes and certain types of cancers.

A cheque for $50,000 is presented in honour of Bev Gould's legacy.

Children’s Health Foundation is the fundraising partner to Children’s Health Research Institute, Children’s Hospital at London Health Sciences Centre, and TVCC.

Donors to Children’s Health Foundation help ensure the best care and the most hope for children and their loved ones who are experiencing a life-threatening or life-limiting diagnosis.

Leaving a gift in your Will is an opportunity to help children and their families as they build their own life stories. Your Legacy can be a child’s future.
