Children’s Health Foundation celebrates RBC for more than a quarter century of support for paediatric health care.
For more than a quarter century, RBC has stood steadfast by our kids as they face serious health issues in Western Ontario.
“Youth are our future and we know that given the right care and support, their potential is truly limitless,” says Heather Austin, Regional Vice-President, London Lambton, RBC
Children’s Health Foundation is proud to celebrate RBC as a long-standing partner in improving paediatric care for our region. RBC has donated more than $2.7 million toward Children’s Hospital at London Health Sciences Centre, TVCC and Children’s Health Research Institute.
Recognizing the impact of the global pandemic, RBC has renewed their commitment to kids’ health in 2020 with donations and event sponsorship totaling $75,000.
Paediatrics has not experienced the same surge in COVID-19 cases as the adult side. However, the virus has complicated care for children and youth, requiring significant innovations.
“We are more grateful than ever for our frontline workers,” says Austin. “The health care needs of our region have changed more than we could have ever predicted but paediatric health care remains as vital as ever. RBC would like to extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you to all of the doctors, nurses and health care teams going above and beyond during these unprecedented times.”
Determined to inspire our community to join them in standing by our kids during the global pandemic, RBC has reimagined this year’s RBC Race for the Kids and is partnering with Children’s Health Foundation for the first time. The event inspires families to get fit and give back while following physical distancing measures. Families can participate no matter where in the world they are by pledging to walk or run a set distance between October 17 to 18, 2020.
“Helping our communities prosper is core to the purpose of RBC, and that is why we are proud to be holding the first global, virtual RBC Race for the Kids event,” says Austin. “We are excited to have Children’s Health Foundation as one of our charity partners and thank them for their continued dedication to supporting youth and their families during the global COVID-19 pandemic.
“This is a chance for us to come together as a global community to support Youth Mental Health. While we cannot be together physically, we can continue working together to help our communities prosper!”
