Join us for a spooktacular afternoon of accessible Halloween fun at Westmount Shopping Centre on Saturday, October 24.
Presented in partnership with Westmount Shopping Centre and TVCC, this free community event is open to everyone, whether you’re a TVCC client or simply looking for a fun way to celebrate Halloween with family and friends.
Enjoy a photo booth, face painting, kids’ craft activities, and special guests. Plus, visit our accessible Trick-or-Treat Stations, thoughtfully designed to help ensure all children can participate in the Halloween fun.
Make Your Halloween Accessible for All Children
- Bring your Halloween display closer to the curb so children using wheelchairs, walkers, or other mobility devices can participate without having to navigate stairs.
- Consider offering non-food treats such as stickers, pencils, glow sticks, or small Halloween toys for children with severe food allergies or those who are not orally fed.
- Be mindful of loud music and sound effects, as some children may be sensitive to noise or startle easily.
- Keep walkways clear and well-lit by removing tripping hazards to help ensure a safe and welcoming experience for all trick-or-treaters.
Help make Halloween more inclusive for everyone in your neighbourhood. Pick up a Treat Accessibly lawn sign at your local Pet Valu store and proudly show your support for accessible trick-or-treating. Your sign lets families know that you’re committed to creating a welcoming Halloween experience for all children.
About Treat Accessibly
Founded in 2017 by Remax Real Estate Agent Rich Padulo and his family, Treat Accessibly began after they realized a neighbour who used a wheelchair was unable to easily access their home on Halloween. What started as a simple act of inclusion has grown into a national movement, with more than 100,000 households across Canada showing their support by displaying the campaign’s signature orange lawn sign.
